“Symmetry” and “asymmetry” are universal ideas in physics, but, when symmetry breaks, it becomes an interesting research subject in the “physical world”, especially “the world of elementary particles”. Professor Cook has expressed the appearance of a woman in a mirror and the actual form of herself with a 3D illusion. Here, he illustrates symmetric / asymmetric art with convex and concave female torsos. Many discussions will be fought in the future as to whether this really truly connects science and art, but I would like to emphasize the power of art to produce such a debate. 2018.2.7 K.Sumiya
PS: I think that Professor Cook is the first to succeed in illustrating concepts of symmetry and symmetry as 3D illusions of the human torso (2017). –

A Mirror that Reflects Only Beauty”
