For Candidates for Master and PhD students from Overseas

We are always seeking for overseas graduate students for Master and PhD. Anyone interested in our research and joining our group should directly contact Dr ARAKI, Sadao (see ACCESS-CONTACT page) before contact the admission office of Kansai University. There are several potential financial supports for you to study in Japan.

1. Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship program

Please note that there are two possible recruiting processes – based on Japanese embassy recommendation in your home country, and based on university recommendation (Kansai University). The application deadline at Kansai University for the university recommendation is the end of January every year. Please contact me as early as you can.

2. JSPS PostDoc Fellowship

You can apply to the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for foreign researchers via Kansai University. Please check this website (https://www.jsps.go.jp/english/e-fellow/postdoctoral.html). If you are interested in our research and this program, please contact Dr Araki. Dr Araki will give assistance to your application before submission. You will receive a stipend (JPY200,000 per month), and a research grant (up to JPY1.5 million/year) for 2 years.

3. Scholarship from Monbukagakusho

 “Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students” (JPY48,000 per month for one year)

4. Kansai University’s Scholarship

The scholarship from Kansai University (total JPY25,0000 for one year).

5. Teaching Assistant of Kansai University

It is similar with a part-time job, you would receive up to JPY160,000 per month.
