The power of the particle that acts as a probe for muography, the muon, comes mostly
from energy that was generated from supernovas in distant areas of the galaxy millions
of years ago. This is carried by atomic nuclei that form cosmic rays (depicted here
as the twisting black line) and arrives continually to our atmosphere where they
transform eventually into muons (depicted as a purple\/pink line). With muons that
come from this cosmic energy source (cosmic rays) muography experiments are conducted
which help us to better understand large-scale manmade and natural phenomenon that
effect the energy cycles of the Earth in order to improve our ability to adapt to the
